A.J. Rathbun’s books include Good Spirits: Recipes, Revelations, Refreshments, and Romance Shaken and Served with a Twist, Party Drinks: 50 Classic Cocktails and Lively Libations (both from Harvard Common Press) and Want (a poetry collection from ZYZZYVA/Creative Arts, 2000), and he has books on snacks and homemade liqueurs coming out in 2008. His essay “Rummie” is featured in the anthology Food and Booze: A Tin House Literary Feast, and he has written for Everyday with Rachel Ray, Fine Living, and other on- and offline magazine. He’s also done a number of national and local radio and print interviews (including interviews with The Knot, The Cooking Couple, The Seattle Times, The Arizona Republic, and others), talking mainly about entertaining, drinks, and trends in kitchen products. A.J. is also a well-published poet (as alluded to by the collection mentioned above), and has had work in numerous national literary magazines, including Crazyhorse, Gulf Coast, The Poetry Miscellany, The Indiana Review, The Sonora Review, The Southeast Review, The Spoon River Poetry Review, Third Coast, Tin House, Willow Springs, ZYZZYVA, and others, and has had poetry anthologized in Pontoon: An Anthology of Washington Writers, Volumes III and V.
